The Captain's brief port visits are usually accompanied by long inland adventures due in part to the natural beauty and vast territory to cover.
There
are a number of lakes, rivers, streams and water falls to explore
throughout the region and The Captain has managed to exploit many hidden
locations to bury his treasures and caches.
Although the warmer season is quite pleasant, the colder temperatures spanning a good portion of the year tend to bring a healthy amount of snow & ice which provides a natural and adequate security blanket over The Captain's treasures.
Most treasure hunters tend to explore the region during the spring thaw, summer months and into the fall season, thus leaving a large number of treasures hidden until the following year. Local tavern scuttlebutt has been reported claiming there is a diamond ring with matching ear rings hidden behind a popular water fall in the region. No specific location has been mentioned, but rumor has it the treasure is now in it's third season!
